Pine seeds, Basil etc...
Mixture
50 gm fresh Basil leaves
2 to 4 garlic cloves
4 tbsp pine seeds roasted
150 ml olive oil
Salt and peper to taste
50 gm fresh pecorino or parmesan cheese grated
400 gm pasta
Extra cheese for sprikling over the dish
Method:
Add the first 4 ingridients into your mixer anf grind them into a paste. Then add the olive oil gradually. Remove the paste to a glass bowl and the cheese and mix well.
Cook the pasta according to the pack. Drain them and put the pasta back into the same pan and then add the pesto to the pasta and mix well.

Serve them directly.
I usually roast extra 1 tbsp of pine seeds and chop them roughly and sprinkle over the pasta.

is there any specific kind of basil? pesto sauce looks nice want to try it out.

I use Italian Basil leaves.
Have you tried adding a coupla spoons of silken tofu? It gives the pesto such a creamy texture.

I am from India but now living in Belgium.
The basil leaves look like curry leaves in your pictures. Even thulasi is reffered as holy basil by christians.

ReplyDeleteI used italian Basil. I don't think you can use curry leaves or thulusi which we have in India.
